Absolutely. A lot of Gen-Xers are taught by people who refuse to think differently so it can take some deprogramming. My parents are immigrants. They simply didn't understand how things worked in the US. I was lucky in that what I learned I'm able to teach them and they're open to being wrong. The same can't be said for others who have longer history here.
