Aside from the blatant racism, we can look at how the United States backed the coup of Evo Morales in the same way it tried to oust Hugo Chavez and Nicolas Maduro in Venezuela — for a more modern interpretation of what it has done throughout history.

U.S. policy plays into whatever issue it can exploit as a means to justify the end game of colonization and imperialism. Its policies are driven by the desire to control resources, economies, and wealth via the repatriation of Indigenous lands all over the world.
