Capitalism has everything to do with it. There's a profit motive you cannot discount. Manufacturers don't care how many guns are on the streets, they just want to sell more guns. That's why we have more guns than people. As long as the people are killing each other, they get to sell more guns. Firearms market themselves in perpetuity.
