I don’t know how (or why) I hadn’t seen this sooner, but it explains why I never received a response from Lights for Liberty when I asked to become a part of the vigil. Needles to say, I didn’t participate because of feeling shut out; as is the case with many actions run by white cis women who claim to be progressive. They talk a good game and that’s about it.

Thank you for this piece as it confirmed all of my feelings about the group/action and those behind it. Now I don’t feel so alone in those feelings.
