I write about this often. The thing with whiteness in the US, as defined by hate groups, ethninationalists, and white supremacists alike, is to be a direct descendent from Europeans. As far as actual white Latinos, of course we benefit from privilege and many often use their proximity to whitenees to oppress non-white groups. All of which stems from colonization and the whitening (blanqueamiento) of Latin America.

That said, when I say white Latinos don't exist, I often ask people to find where a white Latino is identified on a social and political spectrum. We often hear of non-Hispanic whites, but never about white Hispanics for a reason (to "other" us). White supremacy in the US specifically isn't interested in coalescence with the Glodal South. Including Latin Americans and Caribbean Islanders.

Truth is, systemic white supremacy in the US serves to only accept people of color who are willing to keep it intact. Even that is conditional. In tracking hate groups and analyzing domestic terrorist's manifestos, I see it all the time. I assure you, most of them hate Nick Fuentes because they say he isn't white - often bringing up his Mexican ancestry. Fuentes continues to escalate his rhetoric to seemingly try and win them over. His partnering with Kanye only serves to help him in that regard.

No doubt it's a deep and complicated conversation. My intent is to keep having it. Especially with the growing anti-Latino rhetoric from the far-right.

Does that make sense?
