The purpose of the open letter is to start a conversation about the overt racism within our community. It’s something many of us feel needs to be addressed because it’s an issue that is difficult to talk about. It makes people uncomfortable. That’s the whole point.

Additionally, you can project your views about “anti-whiteness” onto my piece, but that’s on you not me. Clearly, I’m addressing white supremacy.
