It already has. Despite all the problems in Cuba, Cubans don't want any help from the U.S. They just want America to leave them alone and let them dictate their own future.

The key to understanding Cuba is taking what Americanized Cubans say with a grain of salt. They're not exactly honest about what happens on the island.
